We’re all Irish today, so let’s wear it with pride. Well the Irish luck starts with your outfit because green and gold aren’t a bad color combo to wear, in fact, it’s pretty gorgeous. When picking the perfect St. Patty’s Day shoes I had to take into consideration that snow is pretty much still covering every green inch of New England. Tory Burch, never one to shy away from bold colors, had the perfect suede booties to celebrate at your local pub, the Riley Mid Buckle Bootie in, and could this be MORE perfect, the color Irish Charcoal. So kick up your green booties and get throw back a pint with your best mate.
Did you feel that last week New England?!?!? That was the sun warming up and melting this arctic nightmare we’ve been living in. Soon I’ll be able to set aside these Uggs that look live they’ve been through winter war away and throw on something a little more freeing and cute. And when that happens I already know what I want that pair of shoes to be, the Halogen Sabrine!!!! I may be a black and white striped patterns best friend. So clean, so chic and so timeless. Pair that with an espadrille and it’s a springtime win. Guys, I already have these in my Nordstroms shopping bag. Don’t wait, if we will it, Spring will get here faster.

To celebrate we are compiling our favorite pictures from our most newest wedding additions to each theme.
Today, we are reliving our most recent modern and whimsical weddings and oh has it been fun! Two vastly different looks but both gorgeous just the same. Thank you to all our modern and whimsical brides, you make our job so easy!!!!
Oh Target (pronounced “Tar-Jay) you’ve done it again. The entire universe is losing it over your Lilly Collection. Girls were planning out shopping strategies they way Bill Belichick prepares the Patriots for the Superbowl. I am sure it was the a scene of all scenes. You never disappoint with your designer collabs. These Lilly Pulitzer for Target Starfish Gold Sandals would be the perfect thing for a day in Nantucket or a Summer night bbq peeking out beneath a pair of crisp white linen pants. Good luck finding these gems, they’re as a rare as a unicorn, who means the literally don’t exist in any Target or Target online. If you find a pair TELL US.
Asos is one of my favorite stops for shopping. Affordable and always up on the best trends. I loved these classic and crisp Ted Baker Issan Cream & Black Bow Detail Ballerina Shoes. I’ve literally never met a bow I didn’t like and I for sure would never turn down a black, cream and gold color palette.
Indigo is the front running trend for spring and summer this year. I think I’ve mentioned once or twice that I am loving it in everything from interior design to clothing, it’s just fresh, clean and cool. J.Crew obviously jumped on the trend train and came up with these killer Elsie Fabric Pumps in natural indigo. Too tempting, I guess I know where my money is going this week.
There is nothing worse than uncomfortable shoes and us ladies are always taking a hit with pain to have stylish shoes but not anymore. TOMs, espadrilles and slip on sneakers are totally in the fashion spotlight right now and it’s making my world. They’re being designed in bold patterns, textured fabrics and SEQUINS for the extra fabulous. These Reena Espadrilles from Anthropologie combine sequins AND satin.They just single handily kicked the shoe game up a few notches.
Brides, stop everything, i’ve found your something blue. These Jeanette heels by Kate Spade don’t only fit the bill but they blow the “something blue” bill to pieces with their amazingness. I’ll always be a lover of navy but I’m a fanatic over navy sparkle! Kate Spade hit the glitzy nail on the head when she designed these. I better see some amazing 2015 wedding shoe portrait shots of these ladies in the coming year.
If Cinderella was around in 2015 these may have been more of what she was thinking for her midnight rondevu with the Prince. Butter for Anthropologie designed these gemstone heavy ankle strap heels. I love these with anything, even a nightgown while sitting on the couch but I’d love them on a bride’s feet who is getting married somewhere outdoorsy and doesn’t want a satin or silk shoe. You can’t beat this sparkle peeping out from beneath your dress. And bonus, you can totally wear these again and again.
It’s the start of Summer, which means everyone has put away their Winter staples, Uggs or Huntington Boots, and are now digging their Jack Rogers out of the back of their closet. This is their season and the prepster in me could not be more on board. Jack Rogers come in a rainbow of colors and endless possibilities but my favorite this season is the Napa Valley Navajo Sandal, designed with real cork with gold whipstiching. Classic and chic all at the same time.
Navy and white stripes ALWAYS get me. As a life long New Englander a preppy nautical chic wedding always gets me. I can never not get swept up in the details and these Kate Spade Celeste Heels are the perfect example. I can already envision the bride having these peek out from beneath her dress with the shore line in the background, it’s what dreams are made of. If you are a beach bride snag these heels asap, they won’t be at Kate Spade for long!
If you’ve even read even a fraction of these blog posts then you know I love anything that is gold or has an accent of gold in it. I dread the day gold goes back out of style. I remember being in high school and not willing to touch gold if you gave me mounds of it for free, what I would love to say to that girl. Thank God we get wiser with age. So it should come to no surprise to you that I covet these shoes like none other. A classic pump with a gold edge, these Miss Albright Latterly Canvas Pumps for Anthropologie have my heart. Side note: the floral watercolor version are just as addicting.
Girls who wear sky high heels are literally the 8th wonder of the world to me, it goes; The Great Pyramid, the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, quickly followed by all the Kardashian’s feet. I’ll just never be THAT girl, I can’t even handle flip flops that are slightly uncomfortable. Orthopedic shoes aren’t far down the road for me, so when I find a pair of flats that can be stylishly worn at a wedding I am over the moon. I know there are those “Flat Shamers” out there who just “can’t even” at the thought of a someone wearing flats but let’s just agree to disagree. Thank you Kate Spade for understanding the struggle, because it is real. Brides run out and grab these Kate Spade Vanna Flats.
Flowers are everything, event designers have known this forever, florists are our secret weapon but clothing designers are just catching on. Gorgeous floral patterns are finding their way onto gowns, everyday wear and finally, work out clothes. When I saw these Nike ‘Air Pegasus 32′ Running Shoes I knew I had to have them and tracked them down faster then any PI has ever worked. I don’t know if having my feet adorned with flowers will get me to the gym any faster but it’s worth a try.
The gladiator sandal has been a summer staple for a few seasons now, each year changing a bit to make way for new trends. Last year, we saw knee high gladiator sandals that never really seemed to take off unless you were a Kardashian, otherwise it just didn’t make sense. These Rebecca Minkoff Nude Georgina Studded Sandals are incorporating this years studded trend and pulling it off seamlessly. I especially love them in nude. Pair with almost anything, long skirts, shorts, jean, etc and make the most of the rest of summer. Eek, Fall is just around the corner.
Fall isn’t quite here yet but she’s around the corner. Don’t hate me but I’m excited. I may be wishing away summer. Autumns color palette and pumpkins, pumpkin spice lattes and Fall fashion just get me. To ease us into this soon to be transition let’s start with a Tory Burch booty/sandal marriage.These Elinor Sandals are a summer/fall staple and pretty much go with everything and anything. I think you’ll be on my fall loving train once you take a peek at these.
Kate Spade with a side of edge is exactly how I would describe these nude leather pumps with gold embellishments bedazzling them. The Lia heels are pretty fabulous and just enough edge for the girl who hardly takes a walk on the wild side. I would love these worn with cuffed jeans and a simple tee. Basically you’re going to look like a rockstar. These also come in black if you are a little more rock and roll then the typical Kate Spade girl.

We are so excited to have Megan and Garrett’s wedding featured on Carats and Cake!
We had the pleasure of having, Abby Larson, from Style Me Pretty, shadow us for Megan and Garrett’s big day to get a behind the scenes look at a real wedding from start to finish. We can’t believe it has been almost a year since we worked with some of our favorite vendors in the industry to execute this colorful, bright and truly memorable wedding.
We were so excited to travel to the Cape for Megan and Garrett’s special day. It was one of those dreamy summer days that only New England gets to experience. Megan and Garrett chose Bourne Farm for their big day because of its close proximity to the ocean and its ability to include all of their family and friends.
The main focus of the day was to include their family and friends into their big day. True event worked closely with the couple to make sure every aspect of the day was focused on their family. Hana Floral Design incorporated the brides love for color with bright and cheery with pops of pinks, reds and blushes. The blank slate of the tent offered True Event the ability to bring to life the bride’s vision. With touches of gold and blues the tent was designed to be inviting for their guests. True Event used gold arezzo flatware, flora etched stemware and blush pink napkins to incorporate special touches to the decor.

We are so excited to announce Katherine and Eric’s wedding was featured on Carats & Cake!! Katherine and Eric’s dream wedding had always involved Saltwater Farm Vineyard. After moving to California, Katherine had always imagined heading back to the East Coast for her big day. Being from New England there was nothing more magical than getting married close to home with family and friends at their side.
True Event worked with Katherine and her mother to incorporate the blue from the bright blue skies and natural tones of the vineyard with tuscan blue linens, touches of silver in the center pieces, set plate and silver flatware. Hana Floral incorporated light touches of garden roses, anemones, thistle and greenery to pick up the aesthetics of the vineyards.
Katherine and Eric chose to say their vows out on the vineyard’s lawn overlooking fields of grapes, as guests enjoyed the sun shine and the beautiful summer day. Once the ceremony was over they headed to the vineyards patio, where Gourmet Galley served artisanal cheeses and signature drinks. Cocktail hour ended and guests moved inside to enjoy each others company and dine on a gourmet meal. After dinner Murray Hill Talent got the party started with their talented band and rocked the night away.
