Girls who wear sky high heels are literally the 8th wonder of the world to me, it goes; The Great Pyramid, the Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, quickly followed by all the Kardashian’s feet. I’ll just never be THAT girl, I can’t even handle flip flops that are slightly uncomfortable.  Orthopedic shoes aren’t far down the road for me, so when I find a pair of flats that can be stylishly worn at a wedding I am over the moon. I know there are those “Flat Shamers” out there who just “can’t even” at the thought of a someone wearing flats but let’s just agree to disagree. Thank you Kate Spade for understanding the struggle, because it is real. Brides run out and grab these Kate Spade Vanna Flats.

Flowers are everything, event designers have known this forever, florists are our secret weapon but clothing designers are just catching on.  Gorgeous floral patterns are finding their way onto gowns, everyday wear and finally, work out clothes.  When I saw these Nike ‘Air Pegasus 32′ Running Shoes I knew I had to have them and tracked them down faster then any PI has ever worked. I don’t know if having my feet adorned with flowers will get me to the gym any faster but it’s worth a try.

The gladiator sandal has been a summer staple for a few seasons now, each year changing a bit to make way for new trends.  Last year, we saw knee high gladiator sandals that never really seemed to take off unless you were a Kardashian, otherwise it just didn’t make sense.  These Rebecca Minkoff Nude Georgina Studded Sandals are incorporating this years studded trend and pulling it off seamlessly.  I especially love them in nude. Pair with almost anything, long skirts, shorts, jean, etc and make the most of the rest of summer. Eek, Fall is just around the corner.

Kate Spade with a side of edge is exactly how I would describe these nude leather pumps with gold embellishments bedazzling them. The Lia heels are pretty fabulous and just enough edge for the girl who hardly takes a walk on the wild side. I would love these worn with cuffed jeans and a simple tee. Basically you’re going to look like a rockstar. These also come in black if you are a little more rock and roll then the typical Kate Spade girl.

We are so excited to have Megan and Garrett’s wedding featured on Carats and Cake!

We had the pleasure of having, Abby Larson, from Style Me Pretty, shadow us for Megan and Garrett’s big day to get a behind the scenes look at a real wedding from start to finish. We can’t believe it has been almost a year since we worked with some of our favorite vendors in the industry to execute this colorful, bright and truly memorable wedding.

We were so excited to travel to the Cape for Megan and Garrett’s special day. It was one of those dreamy summer days that only New England gets to experience. Megan and Garrett chose Bourne Farm for their big day because of its close proximity to the ocean and its ability to include all of their family and friends.

The main focus of the day was to include their family and friends into their big day. True event worked closely with the couple to make sure every aspect of the day was focused on their family. Hana Floral Design incorporated the brides love for color with bright and cheery with pops of pinks, reds and blushes.  The blank slate of the tent offered True Event the ability to bring to life the bride’s vision. With touches of gold and blues the tent was designed to be inviting for their guests. True Event used gold arezzo flatware, flora etched stemware and blush pink napkins to incorporate special touches to the decor.

We are so excited to announce Katherine and Eric’s wedding was featured on Carats & Cake!! Katherine and Eric’s dream wedding had always involved Saltwater Farm Vineyard. After moving to California, Katherine had always imagined heading back to the East Coast for her big day. Being from New England there was nothing more magical than getting married close to home with family and friends at their side.

True Event worked with Katherine and her mother to incorporate the blue from the bright blue skies and natural tones of the vineyard with tuscan blue linens, touches of silver in the center pieces, set plate and silver flatware. Hana Floral incorporated light touches of garden roses, anemones, thistle and greenery to pick up the aesthetics of the vineyards.

Katherine and Eric chose to say their vows out on the vineyard’s lawn overlooking fields of grapes, as guests enjoyed the sun shine and the beautiful summer day. Once the ceremony was over they headed to the vineyards patio, where Gourmet Galley served artisanal cheeses and signature drinks. Cocktail hour ended and guests moved inside to enjoy each others company and dine on a gourmet meal. After dinner Murray Hill Talent got the party started with their talented band and rocked the night away.

We are so excited to share Liz and Bill’s wedding featured on Carrots & Cake!!

As we are sitting down to write this post there is snow on the ground and the temperatures are below freezing, but these gorgeous photos byErin McGinn Photography are bringing us back to the beautiful fall weddings we feel so grateful to be a part of. Working with Liz and Bill was one of those fun and exciting experiences that a wedding planner always hopes for. Their fun and free spirits came through with every aspect of planning.

Jonathan Edwards Winery provided the perfect whimsical and garden inspired setting Liz and Bill imagined. The key design elements we decided to incorporate were elegant, classic and black tie. We chose elegant pieces including white with gold rim china, standard flatware, beautiful organic menus. The gold chiavari chairs added a classic touch to the tent and  brought the table design together. Hana Floral Design designed the flowers with the winery in mind. The greenery, soft roses and touches of eucalyptus picked up the organic feel the couple was going for. Liz’s bridesmaids wore all black floor length dresses and Bill’s groomsmen wore black tuxes, adding the perfect elegance to the night.

As the sun was setting Liz and Bill said their I do’s intertwined in the fields of grapes. After the ceremony, guests made their way to an elegant cocktail  hour where Russell Morin Catering provided small bites and delicious wines from the vineyards themselves. After cocktail hour, guests found their seats under the magnificent tent to celebrate Liz and Bill with outstanding speeches, a delicious three course meal, and party on the dance floor with Ariel Music & Events. To finish off the evening guests were treated to miniature donuts and mini milkshakes, what a fun treat!

We are so excited to share Avery and Alex’s wedding was featured on Style Me Pretty!!

Being our second to last wedding of the 2017 wedding season Alex and Avery’s wedding was one to remember! This Greenwich, CT estate wedding incorporated timeless elegance and classic design elements. True Event worked closely with the mother of the bride to incorporate the bride and groom’s classic and elegant style. The design was inspired by classic Ralph Lauren.

The design element incorporate classic styles with black watch plaid linens,  custom grey wool linens, touches of mercury, and the abundance of florals and greenery made the tent feel intimate and cozy. The couple wanted to create a space that emulated a winter wonderful. KD&J Botanica incorporated greenery, winter foliage, magnolia leaves to make the space feel organic, warm and inviting. Every design element throughout the evening touched upon our original design element of a winter wonderland.

Guests started their night off in the cocktail space, which incorporated romantic forest green velvet linens for the cocktail tables, beautiful silver pendant lanterns and custom white birch flooring. The cocktail tent was connected to the Carpenters’ home encouraging guests to mingle inside of the home as well as the tent. Reserve Modern provided a unique mirrored bar that incorporated the elegant touches of the night.

We are so grateful to have worked with so many talented vendor to create such a magical night for such a wonderful couple!

One of the best parts of wedding planning is being able to design new and interesting palettes, so when a bride comes to us and says she is getting married at Gedney Farm you are overjoyed. Gedney Farm is one of those magical places that offers its guests a secluded get away for their weekend of festivities. The property boasts an original working barn that can accommodate 250 of your closet friends and family. In addition to the luxurious event barn, the property offers the couple accommodations to stay on-site for the wedding weekend!

When we started working with Ashely and Brad it was certain that they wanted to keep their wedding elegant and festive while still being in intimate country side space. The design included elements of a black tie affair, with the grand floral center pieces by Pedestals Floral Decorators, a calligraphy mirror by Ink Revival and fine linens from La Tavola. These elegant details were just the prefect accents to bring to Ashley and Brad’s wedding.

On the big day the weather was one of the perfect New England days, so we were of course elated when we could stick with our plan to host the ceremony at the Knoll, the properties secluded outdoor ceremony space. After the ceremony guests made their way down to the sun drenched cocktail hour where they dined on delicious small bites constructed by the talented chefs at Gedney Farm. As cocktail hour came to a close guests found the elegant calligraphy mirror indicating where they would be taking their seats for the evening of festivities. TheGuests found their seats in the properties event barn featuring intimate touches of soft lighting by Ryan Design. After dinner was served guests celebrated the happy couple by surrounding them on the dance floor to the musical talent of Hank Lane – Steve Delisi Band.
